Professional Profile

I am a registered professional engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering.  I have worked for consulting geotechnical engineering firms in the Southeastern United States since graduating with a master’s degree in geological engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1974.  I have provided foundation, slope and retaining structure, ground stabilization, dam, engineering geology, and earthwork recommendations for multi-million dollar industrial, commercial, institutional, DOT, and rapid transit projects.

I founded GEOPRO L.L.C. in January of 2008.  My business focus is custom geotechnical training for geotechnical engineers, general geotechnical consulting, and geotechnical forensics related to construction claims and lawsuits.  Up until January of 2008, I was the corporate chief geotechnical engineer for QORE, Inc., a consulting engineering firm with branch offices in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.  My responsibilities included technical review of complex geotechnical projects within QORE’s service area, quality assurance audits of QORE’s branch offices, and geotechnical training that included Webinar presentations as well as formal classroom teaching.  I performed geotechnical consulting and project work in Jamaica, Cuba, Mexico, and mainland China.......continue here
